Fans' Wildest Dreams were realised on July 18 1996 when Anna Mae Bullock brought her seventh solo sell-out tour to Don Valley Stadium.

Supporting her eighth studio album, the Sheffield show was among 250 that saw the international singing star gross $100 million-plus over 16 months.

The 21-song set before a 51,500 crowd started with Status Quo cover Whatever You Want and encored with throng sing-along Nutbush City Limits, early hit with then on and off-stage partner Ike.

Two hours and five costume changes saw her adoring audience leave satisfied, albeit five of their number suffering Music In The Sun heat exhaustion.

The Star at the time also reported how, en route to the gig, The Acid Queen spotted and shelled out £225,000 on an azure Bentley Turbo, meaner than any machine she drove as Amazonian Aunty Entity in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.

TT returned to the city for a May 2009 performance (reprised with video clip), rearranged from a March date postponed due to the songstress suffering flu, marking finale of six-month 90-date 50th Anniversary Tour.
