Alesha said: “I have been dying to get back on stage, so I can’t wait to join you guys.”

And Hallam FM breakfast show presenter John ‘Big John’ Harrison said: “Everyone at Hallam FM was absolutely overwhelmed with last year’s Summer Live.

“Anyone who was lucky enough to get tickets was till buzzing about it for weeks afterwards. So we are doing it all again.

“This July, we are going to blow the roof off the arena with an amazing night of memories and, to top it all, it’s the night the youngsters break up for the summer holiday.

“I can’t think of anyone I would rather spend the evening with than our brilliant friends throughout South Yorkshire.

“I hope you can join us – and let’s show Alesha that South Yorkshire’s got talent.”

Other acts performing include Lawson, featuring Chesterfield’s own Ryan Fletcher on bass, and The X Factor stars Stereo Kicks.

Chris Leonard, one of the eight men and boys which make up the Stereo Kicks, admits he cannot wait for the show.

All eight auditioned as solo artists, but were formed into a band by the show judges, eventually finishing fifth in the contest.

Chris says the band took a month off after the show, before taking part in The X Factor Live tour and then their own sell-out headline tour – all without releasing a song.

Their debut single, Love Me So, is out on Monday.

Chris says: “We are still a new band. We’ve only been together for 10 months – that’s not a long time.

“What we have done so far is incredible, but we have an amazing fanbase. We get out of our tour bus, without telling the fans where we were going, and they’re all their waiting for us. I’m convinced they’ve got GPS or something.”

Unusually for a new boyband, the debut single has been written by a band member – Tom Mann.

Chris says they listened to a lot of songs, but Tom’s stood out.

He said the group felt it was the song most suited to the band.

“We listened to a lot of good songs, but nothing that felt like us. We liked Tom’s, took it management and they liked it.

“It’s a song everyone can relate to – ‘Crying on your bedroom floor, – but its a very mature song.

“Everyone knows what it’s like to miss someone.”

Chris said he has high hopes for it to be number one next week – ‘that’s what we’re hoping and aiming for’ – and promised to perform the song when Stereo Kicks play Summer Live.

“We have a couple of songs to play, a couple of surprises,” he says.

“We’ll obviously play Love Me So.”

The band played the venue during The X Factor live tour –and Chris admits he was impressed.

“The Motorpoint Arena is an incredible venue with a great atmosphere.

Sheffield people are always extremely loud. Sheffield is one of the gigs that stood out. We’re looking forward to coming back. It’s going to be sick.”
