This is where you can get rid of your Christmas tree in Doncaster this festive season

With the festive season coming to an end and decorations coming down in households around the county, you can get rid of your Christmas tree at any one of six locations around Doncaster this Christmas, council bosses have announced.

All centres except for Armthorpe are open from 9.30am to 5pm, excluding New Year’s Day, with the last admission at 4.30pm.

Armthorpe is open until 7pm, with the last admission at 6.30pm, excluding New Year’s Day.

You can also cut up your real Christmas tree and put it in your green bin. Christmas wrapping paper cannot be put in your recycling bin and should go in with your general waste.

You can also recycle old electricals, unwanted gifts, and clothes at the county’s recycling centres and local charity shops and furniture projects, You may be able to sell some things online and other things can possibly be mended at your local repair cafe.

And why not make gift tags from your Christmas cards and paper chains from leftover wrapping paper ready for next year’s festive season. You can recycle cards, but make sure they don’t contain glitter.
