Step inside this sprawling South Yorkshire lodge and hotel listed for £4m (cloned)

A sprawling South Yorkshire venue that blends family dining, weddings and overnight stays all in one place has gone on the market for £4 million - offering a look inside a business many locals will already recognise.

Set just off Pastures Lane in Mexborough, Pastures Lodge and Hotel is more than your typical pub.

Spread across over four acres, the site brings together a large restaurant, a 60-bedroom hotel and multiple event spaces that regularly host everything from children’s parties to wedding receptions.

Step inside the main lodge and the scale becomes immediately clear. The building stretches across more than 20,000 square feet on the ground floor alone, with space to seat over 400 diners.

Despite its size, the layout is designed to feel accessible - split between a quieter, adults-only bar area, and a busier family dining space.

It is in the family section where the venue leans into its all-ages appeal. Just off the main restaurant is “Ali Bongos”, an indoor play area packed with climbing frames and soft play equipment.

Doors also open out onto a secure garden space in warmer weather.

Back through the lodge, the focus shifts from casual dining to big occasions. The Stuart Suite, a self-contained function room, has its own entrance and reception area, and is kitted out for weddings, conferences and large celebrations.

It also has space for hundreds of guests, as well as lighting, screens and a full PA system.

Behind the scenes, the operation is just as extensive. Large commercial kitchens, walk-in fridges and separate catering areas keep both the restaurant and events side running, supported by storage space, offices and staff facilities.

Upstairs, there’s even a private manager’s flat - a three-bedroom home with its own living space, tucked above the bustle below.

A short walk across the car park - which has space for around 175 vehicles - brings you to the hotel itself.

Housed in a purpose-built stone building, it offers 60 en-suite rooms, ranging from standard stays to larger family and executive rooms.

Inside, the feel is modern and comfortable, with soft furnishings, smart TVs and thoughtful extras like in-room tea and coffee.

Reeds restaurant sits just off reception - a bright, contemporary space used for breakfast service as well as private events.

Upstairs, the Castle Suite adds another layer, providing a mid-sized conference and events space for up to 100 guests.

Outside, the grounds wrap around the buildings, with a terrace and beer garden offering quieter spots to sit when the weather allows.

Despite its size, the venue sits within easy reach of transport links, with Conisbrough station less than a mile away.
