Popular Doncaster pub and carvery announces week-long closure for makeover

A popular Doncaster pub and carvery will close its doors next month for a week-long closure while it is given a makeover.

The House Martin in Wheatley Hall Road will close its doors on February 16 for the refurbishment which will see the bar area given a new look as well as the introduction of televisions for customers.

The Marston’s pub, which opened its doors in 2013, plans to bounce back ‘bigger and better’ than ever before.

Spokesman Jenny Roe said: “We will be coming back with a lot of special events and activities for the opening week which will become regular events on our calendar.

“The pub will be getting a new look and we will come back bigger and better than ever.”

The bar will close at 10pm on February 16 and will be back in business at 11am on February 24.

On the Monday, staff will celebrate World Bar Tender Day with a variety of activities throughout the day and players from Doncaster RLFC are also expected to be in attendance.

February 25 – Shrove Tuesday – will see some pancake day related fun and games, while on Thursday, a quiz night, which will be a weekly event, will take place.

Friday from 10am is a free messy play session for children and will also be weekly, while in the evening customers will be entertained with live music from a Robbie Williams tribute act.

The week will conclude with a character breakfast with the LOL dolls on Saturday morning.
