New Surgery in Mexborough is reportedly closed, according to some patients at the surgery. At least one person is believed to have been tested for the virus.

Public Health England and the surgery declined to comment.

One patient said the surgery closed suddenly this morning, with nobody not allowed in or out. A doctor reportedly informed patients that someone had entered the surgery with symptoms of coronavirus. People have since been allowed to leave but been told the entire premises must be cleaned.

The patient said: “The doctors is still closed, they said they need to clean the whole doctors, no one was allowed in or out. This was at 11, and it’s still closed now but everyone is allowed back out. They said it takes 48 hours to test things so the doctors took our names.”
