Third Doncaster school tells pupils to self isolate after positive Covid-19 test

Pupils at another Doncaster secondary school have been sent home this lunchtime after a student tested positive for Covid-19.

Pupils in Scawsby’s Ridgewood School’s Post 16 unit have been told to stay away from the school until September 29 and were swiftly sent home after the case was confirmed.

Deputy headteacher Elizabeth Thorpe said: “As a consequence of a positive COVID test of a student in Year 12, Public Health England have advised school leaders to isolate Year 12 students at home.

“Year 12 students will need to isolate until Tuesday 29 September 2020.

"Students do not need to be tested unless they show symptoms of COVID 19 during the isolation period.”

The rest of the Barnsley Road school’s year groups are unaffected.

It comes after a number of other Doncaster secondary schools have also been hit by coronavirus in the last few days.
