These are the latest coronavirus figures for South Yorkshire

Public Health England has released the latest figures for coronavirus cases across South Yorkshire today (March 19).

Sheffield remains the place with the largest number of cases, with the figure now at 40 as of this afternoon (March 19). Yesterday it was 36.

In Doncaster there are now two confirmed cases, down from three yesterday. The number in Rotherham has also fallen by one, and now stands at two.

There has been one more case confirmed in Barnsley, where the total is now seven.

It was confirmed today that a further 29 patients in England have died after testing positive for coronavirus.

NHS England said the patients were aged between 47 and 96 years old and had underlying health conditions.

The death toll for England is 129, and stands at 144 for the UK.

And as of 9am today, 64,621 people have been tested in the UK, of which 61,352 were confirmed negative and 3,269 were confirmed positive.
