Sophie Wright, aged 24, from Loversall, owns a mermaid themed party business in Doncaster which due to the coronavirus has had to cancel several parties over the next few weeks.

However, Sophie has decided not to let the time go to waste and to wear her Princess Anna costume and speak to children in the town over the internet.

She said: “I want to cheer up children by sending them birthday messages or singing their favourite song with them.

“I want to spread a little magic - lots of kids parties will have been cancelled this week.

“Young kids won’t understand what’s going on in the world or why celebrations need to be halted.

“But I can brighten up their days and let them know that their favourite princesses are still thinking about them.”

She usually uses her costume during parties for special princess appearances.

Sophie is looking for other professional princesses to join her mission - they must have their own costumes and be willing to give their time for free.

She has so far recruited one other Princess in the form of Elsa – the fictional sister to her character but is looking for many more to join forces.

“It’s important that people stay inside during this time - me and my family are just in case we have it and don’t know then pass it on to someone else,” she continued.

“This way I get to spread joy and stay inside at the same time.

Social media is really our only connection with each other and that will be true for the next few weeks.”

Sophie is doing this for free but is asking if people can donate money to the Wonkey Donkey Visitors Centre who has recently had to close as one of the owners started showing signs of the coronavirus.

You can get in touch with Sophie by email: [email protected] or via her Instagram @sophiewright95

She will be starting to do these calls and pre-recorded messages this weekend.
