Number of Doncaster Covid hospital patients drops to lowest ever at just one
Just one person is receiving treatment in hospital in Doncaster for coronavirus, health bosses have said.
Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said it was the lowest figure since the pandemic began.
Earlier this week, the hospital trust said the number of patients being treated on its respiratory ward had dropped to zero.
In its weekly update, a spokesman said: “As of the time of writing, we are caring for just one patient who has tested positive for COVID-19. This is the lowest number since this pandemic began, and a testament to the hard work and sacrifice of local people.
“As things slowly show signs of returning normality, can we remind people to remain sensible, wash your hands regularly as well as mask up whenever asked. We have come so far in our fight against COVID-19 - let’s ensure we kick it out of our towns for good.”
Figures have continued to decline in the hospital in recent weeks.
