Number of coronavirus cases in Doncaster reaches more than 200

There have now been more than 200 cases of coronavirus in Doncaster, according to newly released figures.

NHS England has said that there have been 210 cases of Covid-19 in the Doncaster and Bassetlaw area.

From that total, there have been 41 deaths – with the number of fatalaties increasing by four on yesterday’s total.

The figure does not include deaths in the community or care homes – with the true total thought to be far higher.

Across Britain, there have now been nearly 100,000 cases of coronavirus, with the global total passing two million.

There have been 98,476 cases in the UK, an increase of 4,605 on yesterday’s total.

The number of UK deaths stands at 12,868.

Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS Trust says that 70 patients admitted to hospitals with coronavirus have now been allowed home from hospital after recovering from the virus.
