No new coronavirus deaths recorded in Doncaster

No new coronavirus deaths have been recorded in the Doncaster area in the last 24 hours, figures from NHS England show.

It means the death toll for the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust remains at 147.

Across England a further 90 people, who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 24,617.

However, NHS England said the number of deaths reported today may not be entirely accurate as the “Covid Patient Notification System did not operate for a period of time on Saturday 16 May.”

Elsewhere in South Yorkshire, two more patients have died in Rotherham, taking the hospital death toll in the town to 140. In Barnsley, one more patient has died, taking the death toll there to 111. Four more people have also died from coronavirus in Sheffield, taking the city’s death toll to 245.
