No coronavirus deaths recorded in Doncaster for nearly three weeks

No coronavirus deaths have been recorded in Doncaster for almost three weeks, the trust that runs the town’s hospital has announced.

On Wednesday (26 August) Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust confirmed it had been 20 days since the last death related to Covid-19 at its hospitals, which include Doncaster Royal Infirmary and Bassetlaw Hospital.

A spokesperson said it is the longest period the trust has gone without recording a death since the pandemic hit.

They added: We are also coming up to another milestone, and we are just 24 hours away from observing one whole week without an additional case.

The latest interactive map showing positive cases by Middle Super Output Area (MSOA) in England between August 16 and 22 revealed there were no areas of the town where more than three new cases were recorded during this period.
