Latest coronavirus infection rate in Doncaster ahead of new lockdown tier announcement

Virus cases have lowered in Doncaster from 1,113 infections in the seven days to November 14 to 761 cases in the week ending November 21.

The town’s average rate of infection decreased from 356.9 cases per 100,000 people in the week to November 14 to 244 new cases in every 100,000 people in the week ending November 21.

Most recent data from the government health body which is based on tests carried out in laboratories and in the community from the seven days to November 21, also shows coronavirus cases have fallen in Sheffield from 1,737 to 1,353 cases.

The rate of infection in the city is also down from an average of 1,737 infections in every 100,000 people in the week ending November 14 to 1,353 cases per 100,000 people in the seven days to November 21.

Data revealed the number of people contracting Covid-19 in Rotherham fell from 1,000 cases in the previous week to 655 cases in the seven days to November 21.

The average rate of virus cases decreased from 376.8 infections per 100,000 people to 246.8 cases in every 100,000 people.

Barnsley’s total number of virus cases lowered to 673 infections from 995 cases in the week ending November 14.

The town’s rate of infection fell from an average of 403.1 cases per 100,000 people previously to a rate of 272.6 infections in the seven days to November 21.

A total of 276 areas in England also documented a decrease in case rates, out of 315 local authorities.

Swale in Kent continues to have the highest rate in England, with 803 new cases recorded in the seven days to November 21 – the equivalent of 535.0 cases per 100,000 people.

This is down from 619.7 in the seven days to November 14.

Thanet has the second highest rate, down slightly from 517.9 to 493.2, with 700 new cases.

Hull is in third place, where the rate has dropped sharply from 754.5 to 490.4, with 1,274 new infections.
