Entire year group self-isolating at Doncaster secondary school after positive Covid tests

An entire year group has been sent home to self-isolate after a number of pupils at a Doncaster secondary school tested positive for Covid.

Year 10 pupils at Ridgewood School in Barnsley Road, Scawsby have been told to stay at home until June 24 following a number of positive coronavirus cases.

A school spokesman said: “We have had a number of Y10 students who have tested positive for Covid 19 in the last two days.

"Following advice from Public Health England, all Y10 students were sent home to self-isolate until Thursday 24 June.

"With the new variant, it continues to be very important for those students who have consent, to carry out lateral flow tests twice per week so we can continue to keep our school community as safe as possible.

"Please inform school immediately if your son/daughter tests positive and book for them to have a confirmatory PCR test.”
