Eleven more Covid-19 deaths in Doncaster as death toll rises to 470
Eleven more coronavirus deaths have been recorded in Doncaster, bringing the town’s death toll to 470.
The latest figures, released by NHS England this afternoon, show an increase on yesterday’s total of 459.
However, due to delays in recording and reporting, it does not necessarily mean the deaths occurred in the last 24 hours.
The figures relate to deaths in Doncaster's three hospitals – Doncaster Royal Infirmary, Bassetlaw Hospital at Worksop and Mexborough’s Montagu Hospital.
Last week, Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust, said that the number of coronavirus patients being admitted to hospital in Doncaster was ‘broadly stable.’
Earlier this week, the Trust announced that it was likely that this week would see the admission of its 2,000th coronavirus patient.
More than 1,500 people have been successfully treated and allowed home after surviving the virus in Doncaster.
The trust is set to give its weekly update on the town’s coronavirus situation tomorrow.
