Doncaster's annual Town Field Gala and 999 Day has been cancelled

The event was due to take place on Town Field on July 5.

A spokesman for the organisers said: “It is with a heavy heart that we have made the decision to cancel this year’s gala.

“It is not a panic decision but one we feel is a sensible decision that is essential to help to protect everyone.

“All pitch holders will be contacted and efunds to those who have paid will be issued within the next three weeks.

“We hope you understand and support our decision to cancel the event. It is not a decision that has been taken lightly.

We would sincerely like to thank everyone for their continued support for this year and previous galas. We are very proud of the brilliant community event that the gala has become.

“Please keep safe and look after each other.”
