But yesterday, Dr Rupert Suckling, Doncaster’s Director of Public Health allayed concerns over the number of cases but urged people to be vigilant and to follow social distancing and hygiene rules.
The message has been repeated by Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust who said: “The last thing any of us want is a local lockdown. Cases in the area are currently low, as are our numbers of Covid-19 positive inpatients within our hospitals. We want to keep it that way.”
Across the UK, a further 50 people, who tested positive for the COVID-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 28,759.
