The banners, created by Janet Fisher, have been installed on Barnby Dun Road next to the Clay Lane Estate.

Another banner will also be installed at the top of the estate on Thorne Road near the roundabout next to McDonald’s, said local Sarah Whittaker, who pinned up the messages with the help of her children.

The signs are intended to give key workers on their way to work a boost – as well as to show support for the town’s NHS staff en route to Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

Last week, householders and residents across Doncaster came out onto their doorsteps to cheer the NHS with plans for a similar event this Thursday.
