There have now been 210 deaths in the Doncaster area – and the increase of five deaths was the highest in the UK for the latest 24 hour reporting period.
Blackpool was the only other place in the UK recording five deaths in the latest period.

Hide AdHowever, Doncaster health bosses say they are continuing to win the fight over COVID-19 pandemic with more than 350 patients allowed home after treatment.
A spokesman for Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS Teaching Hospital Foundation Trust said: “Today we discharged nine patients and continue to care for the only two patients in intensive care currently with Covid-19 - the lowest number since this outbreak began in March.
“Most importantly, today we did not confirm any additional cases of the virus our hospitals. Truly amazing stuff from Team DBTH and people in Doncaster and Bassetlaw - keep it up.”
Across the UK, England reported 79 new deaths, Wales had eight, Scotland recorded five, and Northern Ireland had one.

Hide AdLocally, in Sheffield there have been 282 deaths, an increase of one, while in Rotherham, there have been 184 deaths, an increase of two.
Barnsley has seen 136 deaths, an increase of two.
But the Office for National Statistics figures released today revealed that 47,387 people had died from the virus in England and Wales up to June 5.
And combined with the deaths reported in hospitals since then there have now been 53,077 deaths across the UK.
