Doncaster Council reveals changes to bin collections in full during UK lockdown

Doncaster Council has issued details of its bin collections during the coronavirus lockdown.

The authority has said that green bin collections have been pasued – to allow workers to concentrate on regular waste collections instead.

A spokesman said: “Green bin collections are paused from today but household waste and recycling bin collections remain unaffected.”

Last night, Prime Minister Boris Johnson annouced a series of stricter curbs to ensure people stay at home during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He announced that all non essential shops would close and that people should stay at home and not go to work, unless their job made it impossible to work from home.

People have also been told to venture outside for exercise just once a day – while staying away from other people.

Members of the public will also be allowed out for medical reasons and to help the vulnerable and elderly.
