Meanwhile, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has spent the night in hospital for tests and precautionary checks after being diagnosed with coronavirus ten days ago.

Mr Johnson had been self isolating but remained in charge of the Government’s fight against the disease.

However, last night a Downing Street spokesman announced that the PM had been admitted to hospital on the advice of his doctor.
