Coronavirus LIVE: 14 Doncaster deaths as Boris Johnson spends night in intensive care

Doncaster has now seen 14 deaths from coronavirus while in other COVID-19 developments, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has spent the night in intensive care after his condition worsened.

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals Trust announced five further deaths yesterday – the highest number of fatalities across South Yorkshire in the last 24 hour reporting period.

The number of cases could be higher though, as the figures only include people in hospital.

Meanwhile, in separate developments, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has spent the night in intensive care after his coronavirus symptoms worsened.

The PM, who was admitted to St Thomas’ Hospital in London on Sunday night, was moved to intensive care early last night after being given oxygen earlier in the day.

A statement said that Mr Johnson was still conscious but had been moved to intensive care to be nearer to a ventilator if it was needed.
