Edlington Victoria Academy has been handed boost by Ofsted, after being graded as ‘good’ following its first inspection since it became an academy. A team of inspectors visited the academy over two days in the spring term.

Within the report, the inspectors stated leaders realised pupils’ happiness and welfare are just as important as results and pupils know that all adults in school care about them.

Children were found to be happy and settled and staff built on children’s interests to help them learn.

The report also stated that safeguarding arrangements within the school were effective, with safeguarding procedures given the highest priority and are understood by staff. As a result, pupils feel safe and know help is always available.

Principal Emily Clark said “I am delighted with the recent report from Ofsted as it highlights some of the key strengths of our academy. It recognises the hard work and dedication of staff, pupils and parents to make Edlington Victoria the best it can be – particularly commenting on the rise in attainment and the holistic approach we take to pupils’ development. We will continue to focus on the identified areas for development so that our pupils have the best life chances and are fully equipped for their next stage of education”.
