Staff at Park Primary School in Wheatley put together a video to tell their pupils that they are still in their thoughts during lockdown – and to give them a laugh at the same time.

They dressed up in fancy dress, held up messages on cards, and danced to the Justin Timberlake song, Can't Stop The Feeling. One member of staff even managed to look like he was dancing on his roof.

Teacher Lindsay Middlebrook said: “Both the staff and our families have found not being at school hard, although we are still open for key workers’ children and vulnerable pupils.

“We have a good relationship with our families and even though we are still in touch with them all during this difficult time, the staff wanted to do something to cheer them up and remind them we are still thinking about them.

“Initially Ms Bates and I asked for a short dancing video that we could put together. I certainly did not expect the creativity and the lengths that the staff went to, to help create this video. I heard in some places there were choreographers and directors involved, but on a serious note I think it just highlights that the hearts of the staff focus on the children of Park Primary School.

“I am very thankful to the wonderful staff we work with for getting involved and helping to spread some joy and positivity in these uncertain times. Staff are now working on part two!”
