Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust introduce life-saving anaphylactic kits to food venues

Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust (DCLT) has partnered with KittMedical to introduce anaphylactic kits at key venues.
KittMedical, known for their appearance on BBC’s Dragons’ Den, are the creators of the multi-award-winning Anaphylaxis Kitt Service, to enable the delivery of lifesaving treatment in the event of an anaphylaxis emergency.
The initiative aims to enhance safety and preparedness across DCLT’s venues where they provide an in-house catering service, including Doncaster Dome, Hatfield Outdoor Activity Centre, and
CAST. Each location is now equipped with kits containing two adult and two paediatric (child) sets, and staff have received training to ensure they can respond swiftly and effectively in the event of a severe allergic reaction.
“Ensuring the safety of our visitors is paramount,” said Kelly Nicoll, CFIOSH, Head of Health, Safety & Environment at DCLT. “By working with KittMedical, we’re taking proactive steps to protect individuals with severe allergies and give our teams the confidence to act in an emergency.
“Anaphylaxis can occur suddenly and without warning, often triggered by common foods such as nuts, dairy, or shellfish. Having these kits on-site means we can provide immediate support while waiting for emergency services, which could be the difference between life and death.”
