Brittains Beverages based in Kirk Sandall produces a range of vodka, gin and spiced rum.

Owner John Raper, aged 68, started the business 15 years ago after his wife Fiona made Raspberry Vodka at their Sprotbrough home.

He said: “I took the vodka out on a shoot and it was a hit - people wanted to buy it.”

The raspberries for the vodka came from East Field Farm in Tickhill – where they are still sourced from today.

They now have a large warehouse and have expanded into bottling.

“Now we make more flavours such as chocolate, butterscotch, and cherry,” John added.

Kelly Hall, Operations Coordinator, said: “Several pubs and bars in Doncaster stock our beverages - including The Harewood, The China Rose and Otto’s.

“We recently sponsored the Christmas Tree in Sprotbrough as we feel it was those people who helped us launch our business so it's only right to give something back.”

Kelly says that people who buy locally will see a difference compared to name brand drinks.

She said: “We've found that people want to drink something local and would rather see local brands on the shelves.

“The quality of it is far better - we distil out vodka five times.

“This results in a smoother and cleaner taste.”

Brittains are holding a sale on their website on the run-up to Christmas.
