New bigger Heron Foods store opening soon in Doncaster

Heron Foods, the discount grocery store chain has announced they’ll be opening their relocated Woodlands store on Great North Road in Doncaster on Thursday, May 6.

As well as securing the 11 existing jobs at the store, the extension has created five new part-time sales assistant positions. Although all of the positions have been filled for this store, job seekers are encouraged to visit Heron Foods’ dedicated careers website at careers.heronfoods.com for all the company’s latest vacancies.

On opening day, the store will be offering a scratchcard-style giveaway to the first 250 customers with top prizes worth £50 to be found, and other prizes including £5 vouchers, product vouchers, and £1 off £10 spend coupons.

Visitors to the company’s Facebook page facebook.com/heronfoodslimited will have the opportunity to choose their favourite charity who will be given £250 as a thank you from Heron Foods.

Store manager, Robin McKillop, who has worked for Heron Foods for over three years, said: “We are building on our existing reputation in the area and improving our offering to customers with an expanded grocery range. We look forward to welcoming new and existing customers when we reopen on Thursday 6 May.”

Heron Foods – Woodlands Great North Road will be open Monday to Saturday: 8 am to 8 pm, and Sunday: 10 am to 4 pm. The larger Woodlands store at 290 Great North Road will offer new and extended ranges of products and deals.
