Lidl is looking to open at least four more stores in Doncaster - this is where

Budget supermarket chain Lidl is planning on opening dozens of new stores across Yorkshire this year – including at least four in Doncaster.

The company has been opening one new store per week in 2021 as it looks to massively expand its customer base in the UK.

Lidl currently operates 860 stores in England, Scotland and Wales but wants to up that number to 1,000 by the end of 2023.

The company is looking for prominent sites, which are easily accessible and have a strong pedestrian or traffic flows around them.

The four areas of Doncaster in the pipeline for a new store are Conisbrough, Bessacarr and around the Central and East Doncaster region.

Christian Härtnagel, the CEO at Lidl GB said: “We are calling on developers and landlords up and down the country to help find potential sites for us to build Lidl stores, which demonstrates the continued ambition we have to further expand our store portfolio across the nation.
