Doncaster surveyors take on the Three Peak challenge for charity

A team from the Doncaster and Newark offices of Fisher German tackled the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge, raising an impressive £1,741 for the Doncaster Deaf Trust.

Alexis Johnson, executive principal, at Doncaster Deaf Trust said: “We are so pleased to receive this donation from Fisher German.

“Many people do not realise that we are a charity and that donations like this make a huge difference to the organisation.

“This money will go to one of our residential areas, Darley Lodge, and our residents will help to decide how it can be used to benefit all of the students who stay there.

“Staying away from home can be quite unsettling for young people and we work to provide a real home from home for our students to ensure that they feel safe, comfortable and able to thrive in our learning environment.”

Doncaster Deaf Trust’s residential provision was graded ‘Outstanding’ in 2017.

It is said to offer a ‘comfortable and supported living environment promoting independence, embracing individuality and encouraging a range of enrichment activities and opportunities for all’.

Rachel Ashworth, from Fisher German, said: “We were delighted to support Doncaster Deaf Trust and to help them in their continued work both in the local and wider community.

“The work that the Trust are doing is outstanding and we hope to be able to work further with them in the future.”
