Russell Kane: TV comic set for Doncaster gig which sold out in just eight minutes

The funnyman will bring his Work in Progress tour to Mexborough’s Imperial Music Venue on August 7, with the comedian revealing the rapid ticket sales in a social media post earlier this year.

The stand-up star, who has been nominated at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards four times and who won the Best Comedy Show gong in 2010, is also acclaimed presenter, hosting Big Brother's Big Mouth, I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here - Now, Freak Like Me, Geordie Shore: The Reunion and Britain Unzipped.

He also starred in Stupid Man, Smart Phone and hosted the BBC Radio 4 series Evil Genius in 2018.

In November 2011, he won a Children in Need edition of Celebrity Mastermind, with the specialist subject "The Life and Novels of Evelyn Waugh” and his debut novel, The Humorist, was published in April 2012.
