ONE of the world’s most famous operettas will be given a glittering new look by the country’s best small-scale operetta company at the Civic Theatre next week.

Opera Della Luna will present Die Fledermaus, the farcial and funny story that combines lunacy, colour and opera - all in one stunning show.

To exact revenge on his friend Gabriel von Eisenstein, Dr Falke arranges for him to attend an extremely risque party at the home of the outrageouse Russian aristocrat with farcial consequences. An evening not to be missed!

HODSOCK: Hodsock Priory near Blyth is once again opening its grounds to the public to help raise money for the NSPCC. On Tuesday, May 10, local people are invited to take part in a bluebell walk through the Priory’s gardens and woodland to enjoy the magnificent displays of bluebells. Entry is £4.50 with all proceeds going towards helping the NSPCC to support local vulnerable children and adults. The event is being organised by the local NSPCC North Nottinghamshire Branch. The grounds and woodlands will be open between 10am and 4pm on Tuesday with guided walks taking place throughout the day. Under 5s go free.
