They’re Revolver and they’re here to give you gyp!
Celeb power turned out to mark the official opening of one of Donny’s coolest clothing stores new site with a appearance by Thomas Turgoose and Andrew Shim, better known as Shaun and Milky from the renowned This is England movie and TV show.
“It was brilliant to see them here – we couldn’t have asked for anything more,” said Ross Cameron, the shop’s co-owner, who lives in Conisbrough.
Ross met up with the actors after they attended a DJ set by his band Bang Bang Romeo and the two groups found they got on well as friends.
“They came over to Donny and did a DJ set at the Priory on Friday night and then came to our opening the next day – it was very cool to have them here,” Ross added.
“The This is England thing really fits in with the Revolver philosophy – it’s pretty mod and so are we.”
Revolver moved the new store – at the top of Baxtergate – after the lease ran out on the Scot Lane premises where the business has been based for three years.
“We just wanted to move closer to the centre of town and be a bit closer to the heart of the action,” said business partner Paul Goodbehere. “It’s a great place to be based, and business is already building up nicely.
“It feels really fresh and we’re already getting loads of new customers, but it’s kept its buzz which is brilliant.”
And Thomas and Andrew are not Bang Bang Romeo’s only famous fans – they were recently bigged up in an interview with internet schmutter site merc.com by Office and Game of Thrones star Ralph Ineson.
The actor – who is close friends with Donny soap star Chris Walker, father of BBR’s singer Anastasia, said: “There’s a great new band from Doncaster called ‘Bang Bang Romeo’ who I’ve seen a couple of times. Their absolutely awesome, they’ve got this singer who’s around eighteen or nineteen but she’s got the voice of a fifty old, like Janice Joplin. She has this amazing beautiful voice, with such passion in it.”
