Vulcan XH558 on TV

FANS OF DONCASTER’S AVIATION history will be treated to a feature on the famous Avro Vulcan XH558 bomber as part of a BBC documentary series.

The iconic plane was based at RAF Finningley during the Cold War and is the last of Vulcans which is still sky-worthy.

The BBC1’s ‘Britain’s Hidden Heritage’ programme, to be shown on Sunday 14 August at 7pm, includes an item on the aircraft presented by John Sergeant, with footage of the plane taking off which was filmed during its stay at Robin Hood Airport during May, in what proved to be an poignant and celebrated return to the town.
