Yorkshire Wildlife Park to host annual Christmas Fair events

Christmas is starting to sparkle with the fast-approaching festive fair at Yorkshire Wildlife Park.

The landmark events take place over the weekends of December 7/8 and 14/15 and features fun for all the family combined with a visit to the award- winning wildlife park and all the fun and seasonal cheer of the

Christmas Fair.The event will inspire the Christmas spirit in everyone – there are over 85 stalls in the heated and floored marquees of the Fair selling everything from Christmas essentials to bespoke gifts. These include children’s books, toys and craft kits and jewelry, scarves and beautiful crafts from regional producers. There’s seasonal fare to take home too including pasties, cheese, pork pies, brownies, chocolates, speciality teas and coffees, vodka, gin and much more! To keep the winter chill out there is lots of delicious hot food on offer as well as Christmas treats such as German beer, mulled wine and hot chocolate. There is plenty to keep the children entertained here too with sand art activity and packs to take home or a ride on the traditional Victorian carousel with galloping horses. (extra charge applies). The Christmas fun doesn’t stop there as there is more entertainment as well on the Wildlife Park and in the Safari Village Courtyard. Not to be missed is the pantomime Victor (everyone’s favourite polar bear!) and the Beanstalk – there are 6 pantomime performances taking place under the Giant Pyramid Marquee during the day from 10:30am onwards. In the courtyard the theme continues with live music, brass bands and family entertainment. “Everyone looks forward to the fairs as these weekends are truly full of fun and laughter,” said Chris White, Head of Guest Experience at the park, which is the UK’s No 1 wildlife walkthrough adventure. “It’s a great opportunity to get into the swing of Christmas, pick up some great presents and see some wonderful animals along the way,”As well as all the festive fun, YWP offers visitors the chance to come face to face with some of the world’s most beautiful and endangered species including the country’s only Polar Bears, Amur Leopards and Tigers and many more.
