The event, which will take place on Sunday 19 July, is a multi-stage trail race which will see entrants undertake a scenic nine-stage 30k course on footpaths and trials.

The route takes in the Don Valley Gorge, Sprotborough Flash Nature reserve, Conisborough Viaduct, Hatchell Wood, Cantley Park, Sandall Beat Woods and Doncaster Racecourse before finishing at Doncaster School For The Deaf.

Organisers describe it as “a unique challenge for runners of all abilities.”

Participants can enter on their own or with a friend. More than 200 people took part in last year’s race.

It’s not for the faint-hearted though, as more than one third of the course – 12.5km – is uphill.

Early bird prices are available until 14 February and cost £23.50 for solo entrants and £41 for pairs, with a £2 discount for UKA members. Tickets can be purchased here.
