Theme parks in England will be permitted to open from April 12, provided criteria including a continuing fall in deaths and hospitals, and the successful roll-out of vaccines are met.

Bosses at Gulliver’s Valley, the £37 million venue beside Rother Valley Country Park, have announced they plan to welcome back customers that day if the rules allow.

“Based on the Government’s most recent announcement we are planning to reopen our theme parks on Monday 12th April,” it said.

"If there is any change to this reopening date we’ll of course update you but right now that’s when we’re aiming to safely start 2021 theme park adventures.”

It added that it would be in touch with customers who have bookings before April 12 and up to May 16 for people who had booked accommodation which is not self-contained, to arrange a transfer or refund.
