Those kind hearted folk at Rawmarsh’s Monkwood are holding a charity bash on October 12 to aid a children’s heart charity.

The event was inspired by the family of a former regular, whose family now gather at the pub once a year to raise cash for Cardiac Risk in the Young, which supports those affected by sudden adult death syndrome.

Landlord Paul Stobbard said: “It’s something that I’m happy to support – this is the fourth year we’ve done it and I hope there will be many more.”

The evening should be a treat for music lovers as Paul is providing a ‘pay for’ DJ – just give him a quid and he’ll play any track you like!

“We’ll also have raffles, competitions and various games to raise at bit of money for Cry,which is a great cause,” Paul said. “It’s always a fun event.

“Everybody wins with charity nights – I get a few more people in the pub, the customers have a great time and we all get to raise cash for a good cause.”
