It may well have been fake but it was certainly a festival of fun in Epworth.
The Isle of Axholme Fake Festival saw music lovers turn out in force to enjoy local talent and tribute bands all under the shelter of a giant marquee.
Ian Brittain, one of the licensees for the event along with Jack Simmons, said: “The weather gods were looking down on us as Fake Festivals returned to the Isle.
“The five local bands got the event off to a cracking start with a fantastic variety of covers and original numbers from some very talented musicians.
“The outside area was packed with people chilling out in the sun with friends and familiar faces from the Isle community, young and old, enjoying some great food and outdoor entertainment.”
He added: “As the outside temperature started to cool, the temperature in the giant marquee hotted up as tributes to Coldplay, Oasis and Queen were welcomed with rapturous applause.
“People left with a smile on their faces knowing that they had been well and truly entertained. Bring on next year as Fake Festivals will be back in Epworth for the same weekend - how will they follow that?”ne
