Music fans will be ROCKING in the aisles at a special cinema screening of the Rocky Horror Show as film lovers’ favourite chain Vue broadcasts live performances of the show.
The famously naughty performance is coming to the silver screen at Doncaster Vue.
The cinema is one of 76 top locations across the UK taking part in a special live screening of the show’s gala performance - which will be staged on September 17 at London’s Playhouse Theatre – in aid of Amnesty International.
Comedian Stephen Fry, ex-Spice Girl Emma Bunton and Great British Bake Off’s Mel Geidroyc are all starring in the live broadcast. Fans will be bursting at the seams as they enjoy the full range of classics including Sweet Transvestite, Damn it Janet, and the pelvic-thrusting Time-Warp.
Kevin Styles, Managing Director Vue UK and Ireland commented: “This really is a fantastic event to be involved in and offers cinema goers something completely different. Tickets for the stage shows were in such high demand they sold out in less than 72 hours so this is a fabulous opportunity for fans of the musical to catch a piece of the action. Our fantastic state-of-the art multiplex cinemas really are the next best place to watch the show. It is sure to be a night to remember.”
Stephen, Emma and Mel will join Rocky Horror’s legendary creator Richard O’Brien on stage as they share the role of the mischievously outrageous Narrator.
Stephen said: “I’ve been a devoted fan of The Rocky Horror Show for most of my life and I have been proud to support the incredible work of Amnesty International for just as long, so to be joining Richard and the cast on stage for this special evening is a dream come true.”
Emma added: “I am so excited about being involved in the legendary Rocky Horror Show. Richard O’Brien has written something that is a huge part of British culture. I’m looking forward to shaking my tush to the Time Warp!”
The live screening will take place on 17th September at 6.45pm.
Vue’s has 84 state-of-the art multiplex cinemas throughout the UK and Ireland – offering incredible presentation with large wall to wall, floor to ceiling screens and Dolby Digital Surround Sound.
Movie goers can enjoy unsurpassed comfort in the cinema’s VIP seats with the best view in the house.
