Doncaster boy band sensation Louis Tomlinson is still recovering from a football injury he sustained in a charity match - one year on.
The One Direction star has revealed he is still nursing an injured knee after clashing with Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor in a match in Glasgow last autumn.
The singer was bundled off the ball by the Villa ace in the game - and ended up vomiting on the sidelines in the full glare of the television cameras after hobbling off.
He was nicknamed ‘Spewy Louis’ after taking part in the charity match for Stiliyan Petrov on September 8 last year.
He was back at the city’s Celtic Park stadium for another match at the weekend, playing for Rio Ferdinand’s All Stars during a 3-2 defeat to Paul McStay’s Celtic Maestros.
Before taking to the field Tomlinson joked: “I’m just glad Agbonlahor isn’t playing.”
Tomlinson gave away a penalty in the match, but maintains his clash with Agbonlahor - and subquent sickness - was “the most embarrassing moment of my life.”
And the pain has not completely healed, with Tomlinson still nursing a knee injury.
“It turned out it actually damaged my medial ligament and it’s not had time to properly heal,” he said.
“I didn’t know if I was going to be fit enough but it was brilliant. It’s my second time here now so I can say I’m a Celtic boy.”
Tomlinson was involved in a failed takeover bid for Doncaster Rovers alongside former chairman John Ryan this summer and played for the club in a reserves match against Rotherham United at the Keepmoat Stadium last season.
