Crazy Town – whose founder members Seth “Shifty” Binzer and Bret “Epic” Mazur were introduced to each other by The Black Eyed Peas and The Voice star will.i.am – topped the US billboard hot 100 chart in 2000 with Butterfly.
The song also reached number three in the UK and helped the band sell more than six million copies of their debut album The Gift of Game.
However, the success was not sustained and the band broke up three years later.
But now they are back together and back on the road with a show at Doncaster’s Diamond Live Lounge on Wednesday, July 6.
A venue spokesman said: “The band was all the buzz in the industry. Crazy Town-mania created a label bidding war which Columbia Records ultimately won.
“It was the Columbia/Sony worldwide reach which appealed most to Crazy Town and that reach had them touring the world and garnered them a number one record in more than 15 countries
“The success of Butterfly was inescapable.”
