Laura Amies, 36, originally from the town and a former student of Hall Cross Academy, has been touted as the next childcare expert for the brand new series helping parents of young children turn around behaviour issues such as biting, temper tantrums, hitting out, fussy eating and non-sleepers.

Filming for the series will take place mid-June to mid-September and Channel 5 is on the lookout for parents with problem toddlers to take part.

Laura honed her expertise in Doncaster as a nursery nurse, teaching assistant and private nanny and made the move to London in 2012 and has spent the past seven years working privately for families as a nanny and child rearing expert dealing with all types of behaviour and developmental problems.

She said she hoped to share techniques in a way that inspires parents and added: “I believe a child should never be written off as being inherently naughty, there’s always a way to positively affect a child’s behaviour. In today’s modern world, parents can be led to believe that certain behaviours arise due to the fact that their child’s nutritional, emotional or even spiritual needs aren’t being met – when actually, a good dollop of common sense is often the best approach.”

The programme – made by the team behind Dogs Behaving Badly and Three Day Nanny – will see Laura spend time within the family home and help turn troubles around.
