Programme of activites for children in Doncaster this Summer

Doncaster children will have access to a huge range of activities for the Summer thanks to an initiative by Doncaster Community Arts (darts).

darts artists are bringing some extra special creative activities as part of the programme.

There’s plenty to spark young imaginations over the summer holidays from dancing to drumming to DJing.

Assistant Director, Helen Jones said: “We know that lots of families won’t be going on holiday this summer so we have pulled together a really exciting programme of inspiring activities for children and young people of all ages to do at home. We can’t wait for Doncaster kids to get stuck in and get creative!”

Young People trying out music technology at Pointfest

Highlights include Facebook Live Drama sessions every week – all the way from the USA.

A weekly Facebook Live mission to help DJ Rob race against the clock to produce a new piece of music in his sound lab studio. Give him ideas, moods, beats, tempos and patterns and hear the final track come together.

Weekly Cartoon Club video sessions with professional illustrator Ed Syder. Free step by step videos showing you some ace cartooning skills.

Join in with weekly dance sessions for all ages, led by professional dancers Alex and Danni.

New Music Challenges - Inspired by this year’s Sing and Sign songs, Musician Dyzelle has created some fantastic music challenges to keep you busy at home. Help Ollie the Octopus to write a protest song, create and perform your own rap and relax by thinking about your happy place! These online sessions are designed specifically for children with special educational needs and disabilities.For very young children - Make music and explore some of your favourite books in our Tuneful Chatter sessions. Join our musician in these fun story sessions with lots of Makaton added for helpful communication.

Get involved with weekly Art Club through our Facebook Events. Join artist Anna Bean to make your own fantastical art. Tag us in your creations and we'll post on our online gallery. We can’t wait to see what you make!
