But she's never really been away.

Foxes, as she likes to be know, has modelled for Debenhams, was the face of Adidas's Energy Boost running shoes and fashion retailer H&M's Loves Music collection. She also fronted the 2015 poster campaign for Fashion Targets Breast Cancer.

Doctor Who fans will remember her acting alongside Peter Capaldi in the episode Mummy on the Orient Express, performing Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now in the style of a 1920’s jazz number.

She is also the voice of chart hits Youth, Let Go for Tonight, Holding onto Heaven and Zedd's 2013 Grammy Award winning single Clarity.

In an exclusive chat - hear it on our web site - the 26-year-old singer-songwriter promised fans won't just get the new album but all the hits and explained how her supersonic lifestyle, which included a year long promotion of the first album, meant a two year wait for All I Want.

Foxes, who eschews the lure of the full-on glitzy pop star life in favour of taking the bus around East London and working on her mum's vintage clothing market stall, is ready for the world to hear what she's been working on.

Inspired by moving on from the past and taking control, it's a sonic leap forward that comes from experience and an artist coming of age.

She said of the album and tour: "I'm so excited about both. It's really incredible to be back and also to be playing live again, which is my favourite thing to do - just take the music that I've written on the road and se what the reaction is.

"I'm definitely going to be playing singles from the first album, the new album and lots of music people haven;t heard. There's' a big set list there. I'm now getting really involve in how the show is going to look. It's going to be on a much bigger scale this time. I'm really excited. People will be able to buy the album and then se it come to life.

"I'll definitely be playing Clarity. It's a song that I wouldn't not play live because it gets such a lovely reaction. It's such a fun song to play. Everyone gets involved and sings along with it. I'll play Clarity for sure."

Southampton-born Foxes is looking forward to her homecoming gig at Portsmouth Pyramids Centre on Monday, March 7.

She says of the new 12 track album, featuring singles Body Talk, Better Love and Amazing: "'I've had a lot of time to grow up since writing the first album. A lot of things happen and I'm writing now from a slightly different angle, about experiences I've had. I always write very personal things. It's probably a bit more emotional and raw than the first one, a bit more stripped back.I t talks about a relationships and being in a vulnerable position. But I tried to make it slightly more empowering. I wanted moments that didn't just feel really sad, I wanted there to be moments of hope."

Of the two-year wait for the second album she commented: "I did a lot of promos for the first album, travelling around the world. It's also been such a honour to work with brands like H&M on a clothes line. It's been a bit of a whirlwind.

"It was just incredible to be on Doctor Who, an experience I'll never forget. Things like that you just can't say no to. I'm such a big fan. It was one of those moment you have to pinch yourself. It was great to work with Peter Capaldi.

"I don't really know yet what comes next. I want to focus on music - that's what I do. I want to put that first, Music ha given me all of the other opportunities. It's important to keep that as my vision. But maybe in the future it will be fun to dabble in something else."
