Both Wheatley Hills and Thornensians were relegated from their respective divisions on the last weekend of the Yorkshire League season.

Wheatley finished bottom of Division One after losing to fellow strugglers North Ribbledale.

Thorne's 20-17 defeat at Ripon, coupled with a win for second bottom Leos, saw them drop into the bottom two of Division Two.

Needing a bonus point win and for other results to go their way, Thorne led 17-15 midway through the second half following tries by fly-half Holt, centre Roberts and wing Brown but the fourth try and what would have been their fifth victory in their last nine league games eluded them.

Doncaster Phoenix ended their Midlands Premier Division campaign with a 29-22 victory at Nuneaton.
