Doncaster Phoenix maintained their perfect start to life in North One East with a 42-25 win at home to local rivals Dinnington.
Former Doncaster Knights fly half Jamie Lennard provided a kicking masterclass as Phoenix, last season’s Yorkshire One champions, recorded their fourth straight bonus point win.
Lennard converted five of Phoenix’s six tries, with captain Andy Ellis amongst the scorers.
Josh Fowler got things started for Phoenix from the wing with number eight Adam Kettle and Ellis adding further tries before half time.
Tom Batty went over shortly after the break to increase the home side’s lead.
Scrum half Joe Watts and Dave Hankinson then added late scores to put the game beyond Dinnington who staged a late flourish but could not prevent their first defeat of the season.
Phoenix have claimed a maximum 20 points but are second in the early standings, behind West Hartlepool on points difference.
Third-placed Morley have also won their opening four games.
Wheatley Hills claimed their first victory of their North One East season with a 29-13 defeat of Pocklington at York Road.
Owen Gilvray was the star of the show, scoring two tries, kicking three conversions and a penalty.
Wheatley, playing at home, made a much brighter start than in their previous three outings and scored first for the first time this season.
It was hooker Sam Kerry who got them off the mark before Gilvray scored a second.
After the break, Gilvray added a second try before number eight Tom Buckenham added a fourth.
The Wheatley team was boosted by a few players returning from injury as they look to kick-start their season.
They currently sit 11th in the 14-team division.
Replacement winger Jordan Fleming scored a second half try for Wath on Dearne but could not prevent a 22-10 defeat away at Roundhegians in Yorkshire Two.
Jacob Mangham had already gone over for Wath in the first half but with no conversions the visitors were unable to chase down the home side’s target.
Thornensians were 41-14 winners away at Stocksbridge in Yorkshire Three after Brett Hunt weighed in with four tries from the wing.
Number eight Ryan Pilley also grabbed a try for the visitors to help rack up a comfortable margin, with centre Rob Brown kicking four conversions and a penalty to add gloss to the score.
A battling Rossington Hornets were unlucky to lose out 35-26 at Stanley Rodillians in Yorkshire Five, but did receive a bonus point for scoring four tries.
