Doncaster Phoenix have sealed the Yorkshire One title with three games to spare.
The Castle Park club were crowned champions following Saturday’s emphatic 57-18 win at Bridlington and a defeat for second-placed Malton and Norton against Yarnbury.
Phoenix, promoted from Yorkshire Two in 2013, have won 23 out of 23 in the league this season and have three further games to negotiate in order to lay claim to an ‘invincibles’ tag.
They will join fellow Doncaster side Wheatley Hills in North One East next season.
Centre Adam Ellis ran in the first try at Bridlington with just two minutes on the clock and the visitors were dominant throughout.
Adam Kettle, Tom Battye and Lee Wallace each scored two tries apiece, while Ryan Peacey and Chris Planchant also got on the trysheet.
