DEFENCE coach Neil Kelly will take charge of the Knights tonight with director of rugby Brett Davey named in the squad for the visit of Leeds Carnegie in the B&I Cup.
Both Davey and forwards coach Glen Kenworthy are in the 22 for tonight’s game at Castle Park (7.30pm) so Kelly – recently returned from World Cup duty with Namibia – will assume control, assisted by rested centre Tom Luke,
Three of the dual registered Sheffield Tigers players – Jamie Broadley, Alistair Thompson and Sam Cooke – will start the match as will Kenworthy, Ben Toft and Michael Bateman.
Davey, who scored a try in the Knights’ previous B&I Cup game at Nottingham, will start among the replacements along with another Tigers’ player, Peter Swatkins.
In-form David McIlwaine is among several regular starters rested for the match but wing Oli Goss starts after his absence from the win over Plymouth Albion at the weekend.
