Doncaster Knights have snapped up prop forward Colin Quigley from local rivals Rotherham Titans.
The 32-year-old has signed a two year deal at Castle Park, fresh from helping the Titans to the promotion play-off semi finals.
Clive Griffiths has moved to add Championship experience to his side following promotion from National One.
And former Scotland U21 powerhouse Quigley has plenty having made 22 starts for Rotherham last term, including both legs of the play-off semi-final.
He is set for competition at number three with Ross Davies and Colin Phillips, both of whom have extended their stay at the Knights.
Quigley said: “I’m really looking forward to the new challenges ahead.
“I’m over the moon to be signing with Doncaster this season. I’ve had a good sit down with Clive and he’s told me about his ambitions for the club.
“The team did so well to win promotion last season and hopefully I can play a part in building on that in the Championship.
“My main objective is to play and try establish myself but there is some very strong competition.
“Ross and Colin are very good players but hopefully I can add something to the tram.
“I want to try and help the Knights have a good season.”
Quigley previously spent time with the Knights before going on to play with Moseley, London Scottish and Rotherham.
He is known as a solid scrummager who is a threat carrying the ball.
